Monday Moodboard: Domestic Goddess

Fold Top Shoulder Bag by StarBags
Sewing forever, housework whenever by dindi
Crafting Cindy Desk Organizer by lessandmore
Purple Felted Pincushion by colouritgreen

I've made the decision: The time has come for me to buy (and learn to use!) a sewing machine. It's on my Christmas list, so hopefully by the new year I will be sewing beautiful clothes for all my family and friends!!! (Well, I can dream, can't I?)

Have a magical week ;-)

Visiting Nancy and Cor

Thanks to our shop on Etsy.com , we have made many good friends who live all over the world, though many of them we will probably never meet in real life. So it is wonderful when we become friends with someone through Etsy that only lives 30 minutes drive from Anna's home!

Today Declan and Anna went to visit Nancy (aka NancyvdBoom) and her husband Cor at their beautiful home in Uitgeest. Cor is a photographer and while Nancy and I were chatting away his camera was clicking. He was kind enough to send me copies of his photos this evening, I am blown away by how beautiful they are.

You can find Cor's website at www.corvanderplaat.nl

My Creative Space

Well, Anna and I decided it was about time we showed you our creative spaces. It's going to be so interesting, because of course we're both making mice, but in two different countries and each with our own ways of working and our own "studio setup"! So this week you'll be hearing from me (Naomi!) here in the UK. Right now, I am working from a mixture of little exciting bundles of materials and other goodies that Anna has been sending me (like those parcels they drop on desert islands!) and my own sourced materials, for the mice and their clothes and accessories. I've been making good use of some wonderful boxes with fabulous little compartments and cubby-holes that had not been properly used before to store my new wealth of threads, materials and allsorts.

The mice are sitting mostly on the desk with me at the moment, but as I make more and more I am finding that they need official 'homes' before they are adopted, if I want to keep my work space clear! It's going to be fascinating to look back on these Creative Space posts and probably laugh at my very first attempts at some sort of organisation. As I get more and more familiar with the mice, I am sure little tricks will emerge on how to keep things organised! (Any helpful hints, Anna? Or anyone?!) :-)

Oh yes, and finally... This little guy rarely fails to make me grin when I'm mousemaking in here.... He's been lovingly nicknamed "Pinhead", the poor little thing... If anyone would like to rescue Pinhead from his doomed existence, then please do buy me a pin cushion! ;-)

Much love,

Naomi xx

My little Sales Fairy...

On a grey Saturday afternoon one of the members the European Street Team listed something very cute and colorful in her shop on a very low price: a Sales Fairy. Which was bought by another member of the team, who then made another sales fairy to be caught by someone else. And so a new game was started (it doesn't take much to get us EST girls into a game!). There were many many sales fairies - often grabbed at super-speed - before I finally managed to catch one!

My sales fairy from MGMart is soooo pretty! She is hanging in my studio and bringing me more sales every day

And so it was my turn to make a sales fairy,
and here she is: Sandra the Sales Fairy Mouse.

Sandra was caught by my friend Bianca aka bndesign
who in turn made this beautiful sales fairy of her own:

If you would like to read more about the sales fairy game, and see ALL the fairies that have been made so far, then you can visit the European Street Team blog

Edward Scissorpaws Mouse

Poodle need a haircut? Hedge need a trim? Ice sculpture for your party? Lickety-split, snip snip snip - little Edward Scissorpaws will come home with you. He doesn't even need make up - just lots of love and attention. He is the perfect gift for anyone who loves Johnny Depp or the Tim Burton films.
